Just landed
Just Landed is a sci-fi survival horror short set on a hostile alien planet, where a group of convicted prisoners from Britain are dropped as part of a brutal experimental program. If they survive for 24 hours and reestablish contact with their orbiting drop ship, their records will be wiped clean and freedom restored. But what begins as a test of endurance becomes a descent into nightmare. The prisoners—uploaded into robotic survey avatars—land in the only safe zone: a swaying field of alien grass that pulses with strange, rhythmic energy.
Unbeknownst to them, the open terrain around the grass is inhabited by a predatory, ancient entity that feeds on consciousness. Once disturbed, it becomes fixated on them, learning and adapting with every move they make. When one of the crew vanishes after chasing a mysterious orb of light, the others are forced to confront the truth: the assistant bot, their only connection to the orbiting ship and their real bodies, is dying—and the entity wants it.
To survive, they must pool their energy into a last-ditch escape plan: using the alien grass to generate an EMF masking field, allowing them to traverse the terrain undetected. But the field won’t last long. With alliances cracking and their shield failing, they must fight time, each other, and the entity hunting them.
Darkly humorous, tense, and British to the core, Just Landed mixes sci-fi horror with gallows wit as a group of flawed humans race toward redemption—or annihilation.
